Board Election Results
Now that Paul has "let the cat out of the bag" I can talk openly about the board elections again :)

All I really have to say is...

Congratulations, to: Tom Callaway, Jesse Keating, Seth Vidal and Jef Spaleta who from 1st July 2008 will be slaves^Wmembers of the Fedora Board.

I'd also like to say that while they have not become members of the board, Dennis Gilmore, Jon Stanley, Josh Boyer and Jonathan Roberts should all be pretty proud and happy, the fact they did not get elected, they are still EXCELLENT members of the Fedora Community, nothing can change that.

The turn out was, lets just say, disappointing, 250 out of 4069 people who have signed the CLA... that's not good enough.

However, the December 07 Board Election only saw 128 voters, so it has actually still improved somewhat.

I'm planning on holding an "Anatomy/Post-Mortem/Autospy" of the election, and the election software sometime soon (I'll note here if/when that'll be, in the mean time, you can send ideas/thoughts through to "dev -at- nigelj -dot- com" and I'll collate them etc).

One final acknowledgment... I'd like to thank Ryan Lerch for creating such an awesome "I Voted" image. Having it every 10 or so posts on Fedora Planet was great for getting the punters in.

Actually, not an improved turnout....

128 -> 250 isn't actually an increase given the increase in number of accounts in the same time.

Based on Paul's comments at FUDCon, there were roughly 2000 accounts in January/February. Not all of those would be cladone; currently, we're at less than 60%. But say 75% of that number (1500) even though it is a higher ratio than now and it's based on numbers of accounts from a month or two later. That means that we had 8.5% turnout as opposed to 6%. while low-balling the turnout percentage for the last election which was for a single seat.

Re: Actually, not an improved turnout....

A very good point, and as an update to the post, the number of votes in the June/July election in 2007 was 190, so in proportion, we've slumped badly...
